Characteristics

RFID System it’s a radio device that communicates with cards containing a memory and an antenna.

As bar code scanners, RFID reader may be stationary or portable. The cards are an extension of the bar code labels you see everywhere, but more intelligence.

Advantages

The advantage of these more "intelligent" systems is that, unlike based data capture barcodes, RFID system can read the tag information without being any line of sight or a particular orientation. This means that RFID systems can be largely automated, reducing the need to manually read management exceptions.

RFID tags may include the bom and routing path generated by ERP or MES systems.
